John 1:35-51

When the evidence is available, when witnesses are accessible, and when suspects are willing to talk, there’s nothing like seeing for yourself. Cold-case investigators don’t have that luxury. They can’t always examine the physical evidence, or even talk to witnesses or suspects who may be inaccessible or have passed away. The text we’ll examine next time chronicles the first contact Jesus has with five men who later became apostles. These men were looking for the Messiah and checked Jesus against the evidence of the OT Scriptures, come and see what that evidence led them to conclude about Jesus.

Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People?

Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People?

“Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People?” is a question many of us wrestle with. Many who believe in a loving God have trouble reconciling how a loving God allows bad things to happen to good people. Some believe the victims themselves are to blame. Others say that there is no God, or if there is, he is either not loving or powerless against evil. The question and answers are not new. In Jesus’ day the popular answers were, “They aren’t good” or “There is no loving God”.
