Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People?

September 11, 2018

“Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People?” is a question many of us wrestle with. Many who believe in a loving God have trouble reconciling how a loving God allows bad things to happen to good people. Some believe the victims themselves are to blame. Others say that there is no God, or if there is, he is either not loving or powerless against evil. The question and answers are not new. In Jesus’ day the popular answers were, “They aren’t good” or “There is no loving God”. On 9-11 Pastor Tim will share from the Bible why bad things happen to good people and the assurance that all will be made right.

Any detective knows the value of a reliable eyewitness. Even more important is a written account. Every witness has a purpose for giving his or her testimony. In the New Testament we have four “witness statements” we call them the Gospels. Each writer (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) wrote to different audiences with different reasons for writing. Come join us as Pastor Tim begins to walk us through John’s eyewitness account of three years he spent with Jesus. In the first sermon we’ll discover John’s purpose for writing.
